    King Nicholas, still in exile, died on March 1, 1921. Even at the last, when life was ebbing, he refused to abdicate in favor of his grandson, Alexander, and it was because of this that he was not allowed to return to his beloved Lovčen. I understand, however, that his ashes have now been interred in the soil which he loved and so gallantly defended.
